Programs for Children
March Program
Pioneer Foods

The Oldham County History Center continues its children’s programs with the theme of food for March. What did they eat?? How did families live in ages past without the convenience of a grocery store or mall?? How did soldiers in the civil war survive as they walked hundreds of miles across the South?? Children will make food from “scratch” just like days of pioneers. They will visit the root cellar and discover how people preserved food throughout the seasons before electricity.

Programs are ongoing all day- throughout the month, on each Saturday. Activities are free- donations are appreciated. Reservations are recommended for groups of 5 or more.
