2009 Living Treasures Reception with Guest Speaker David Dick
The Oldham County Historical Society and The Oldham Era will honor the 2009 Living Treasures on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Rob Morris Chapel Educational Bldg on the history center grounds. The featured speaker is Kentucky native and author, David Dick. Dick returned to his native Kentucky after serving as a CBS correspondent. He married Lalie Cumbo and together they founded the Plum Lick Publishing, Inc. Dick is the author and co-author with his wife, of 13 books. He has received honorary doctorates from Cumberland College and EKU. In 2003 he received the Thomas More Medallion by Thomas More College.
The Oldham Era and the Oldham County History Center began the Living Treasures program in 2007. The Living Treasures program honors those 70 years or older, living in the local community for their contributions. The Living Treasures program is modeled after a similar program in Santa Fe that honors its’ elders who have generously served the community with their kind hearts and good deeds. Each month a local elder was selected and featured in a full page section of the Oldham Era. The Living Treasures are selected by recommendations from members in the Oldham County community.
The reception and program honors the following 2009 Living Treasures:

The public is invited to attend.
