"Paint a Picket”

Celebrate 50 Years of the Oldham County Historical Society

The Oldham County Historical Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and wants you to help. To help celebrate, the Oldham County History Center is providing pickets, for a picket fence, to be painted by members of the public and displayed on the Oldham County History Center lawn. The picket display will be a part of the Ky. Humanities Council and the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibit “Between Fences”. The Between Fences exhibit explores how fences are an integral part of our environment in our day-to-day lives.

The theme for the community-made picket fence is “What History Means to Me”. Pick-up a picket at the Oldham County History Center, 106 N. Second Street in LaGrange, from March 3-27, during business hours. Paint your picket showing us what history means to you and return the picket to the Oldham County History Center by April 10.
