Dinner Meeting Re-Scheduled for February 24, 2009
Author and Native E. Bruce Heilman, Featured Speaker
Due to inclement weather conditions the January dinner meeting of the Oldham County Historical Society has been re-scheduled for Tuesday night, February 24, 2009 at Arbor Ridge Vine and Grill. Local native and featured speaker, Dr. Heilman, will recount his life experiences that are featured in his new biography, An Interruption that Lasted a Lifetime: My First Eighty Years. Born and raised in Oldham County, Heilman served in the Marine Corps in WWII. He pursued a career in higher education and was president of two colleges including the University of Richmond from 1971 to 1986 where he is currently Chancellor. To mark his 82nd birthday, Heilman rode his Harley-Davidson motorcycle across the United States. He and his wife, Betty, have been married for 60 years.
Heilman will be signing copies of his book at the meeting. The meeting which will include dinner, will take place on Tuesday evening, February 24, 2009 at 6 p.m.at Arbor Ridge Vine & Grill on 6402 Westwind Way, Crestwood.
