Light-up LaGrange Events at the History Center
There are many exciting activities planned by discover Downtown LaGrange. Below are special activities being conducted at the Oldham County History Center in conjunction with the Light-Up LaGrange Festival.
Kentucky Derby Festival Quilt on Display at the History Center
December 7-14, 2007
The Kentucky Derby Festival Quilt will be on display at the Oldham County History Center when Light-Up LaGrange kicks-off its downtown festival on Friday, December 8. This official Kentucky Derby Festival Quilt has Oldham County roots. The quilt project was spearheaded by Marjie Applegate of LaGrange who was assisted by fellow seamstresses Jean Riggs, Mildred Hundley, Linda Holman, Maurine Pollard and Ruth Mathus. The quilt will be on permanent display in the lobby of the Kentucky Derby Festival office after it’s showing at the history center.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Quilt will be on display at the Oldham County History Center through Saturday, December 15, 2007.
Oldham County Singers for Special Concert for Light-Up LaGrange
The Oldham County Singers will be giving a free, holiday music concert at the Oldham County History Center for Light-Up LaGrange. The concert will be at the Rob Morris Chapel Educational Building behind the museum. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., December 7, 2007.
Amish Bake Sale for Light-Up LaGrange
Local Amish farmers will be conducting a bake sale at the history center museum. The following items for sale: Apple & Cherry & Pecan Pies, Cinnamon Roles, Pecan Rolls, Crème Filled Coffee Cakes, Pumpkin Rolls, Frosted Pumpkin cookies, Oatmeal and Peanut Butter Cookies, Brownies and Bread.
