The Queen's Tea
Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2 p.m.

The Oldham County History Center continues its' summer cultural heritage series in August with The Queen's Tea. Celebrate our English culture with a special afternoon tea in honor of Queen Elizabeth's visit to Oldham County. In 1986 Queen Elizabeth visited Warner and Harriet Jones at Hermitage Farm. A special lunch was prepared for her in honor of her visit. This year the history center will sponsor a High Tea at 2 p.m. at the Irish Rover, Too on 107 Main Street in LaGrange. There will be a special presentation by quilt artist Rebekka Siegel. Ms. Siegel will talk about her museum quality paper doll quilts that will be on display at the Oldham County History Center Oct. 23 from Oct. 27 that feature famous women in history such as Ella Fitzgerald, Babe Dickerson Zaharis and many others. In addition Ms. Siegel is the event and program coordinator for the Elk Creek Vineyard in Owen County and will discuss the new emphasis on wine culture in Kentucky. Reservations only: Cost : $15 for history center members, $18 for non-members. Call 502-222-0826. (This was a sell-out last year!!)
