The Oldham County History Center is sponsoring a History by Food Fair on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on history center grounds under a large tent. The fair explores food culture, featuring authors of cookbooks who will have samples of their recipes for tasting. In addition there will be numerous activities for families. Children can paint kitchen magnets provided by Louisville Stoneware, there will be a milking cow demonstration provided by local farmer's Bobby and Angie Klingenfus along with ice cream samples and the Oldham County Health Department will have a display on food nutrition.
Pottery artists from Louisville Stoneware will have a Starving Artists Pottery Sale that features their personal creations. An additional feature will be a fall native wildflower sale featuring cardinal flowers and lobelia.

The History by Food Fair is being held in conjunction with Key Ingredients: America by Food exhibit, a Museums on Main Street Project sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute and the Kentucky Humanities Council. The exhibit is now on display at the
Oldham County History Center until October 14. The History by Food Fair and admission to the museum is free. There is a small charge for some specific activities.
