Volunteers Needed for Smithsonian Exhibit
"Key Ingredients: America By Food"
The Oldham County History Center will host the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit: "Key Ingredients: American by Food" on September 2, 2006 through October 14, 2006. This exhibit delves into the historical, regional and social traditions that merge in everyday meals and celebrations of the American table. The exhibit is a part of the Museum on Main Street program of the Smithsonian Institute and is also sponsored by the Kentucky Humanities Council, a partner of the SITES-Federation of State Humanities Councils.
The Oldham County History Center needs volunteers who can help lead tours, develop special programs and events, help develop a regional cookbook, work on educational supplements and research local history on food culture. A working lunch planning (provided for participants) meeting will take place on Friday, November 18 from 11:30 till 1:00
p.m. The museum also needs volunteers to help with other exhibits and events.
For those who are interested in participating but cannot make the meeting, please call 502-222-0826 for further information.
