Octoberfest in August

Our Octoberfest in August is for Saturday, August 27th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
To help celebrate Oldham County 's German heritage, the Oldham County History Center is hosting the first Octoberfest in August celebration on August 27 th . The celebration will feature a concert with German folk music from the Oldham County Singers and German beer music from Hans Sanford. Catered German food by The Silver Spoon along with a cash beer and wine bar will also be located on the grounds of the History Center . Admission is $22 which includes your food and entertainment.

Octoberfest will be held in conjunction with the German heritage exhibit now on display in the Head Family Museum . The exhibit features a genealogy display which encourages visitors to look up and explore their German ancestors who lived in the area, a display of various tools and equipment brought over from Germany , and actual clothing worn during the time that many Germans were escaping Hitler's Germany . An exhibit set up by students from South Oldham High School which highlights present day German culture both in Oldham County and Germany is also on display. The German Heritage exhibit will be on display until September 24 th . Admission to the Museum is free.
