Oldham County History Center announces Kentucky Humanities Book Series

The Oldham County Historical Society is pleased to announce that they have been awarded with a Kentucky Humanities Book Discussion Grant funded under a program of the National Endowment for the Humanities. This Grant will enable the History Center to introduce four different books and authors to its membership on Kentucky history and literature. The first book discussion will be with University of Louisville Professor, Dr. Bruce Tyler who wrote and will present Images of African American Life in Louisville . Through over 200 photographs, Dr Tyler focuses on people and families of Louisville and Shelbyville from the late 1800's through the1960s. This first book discussion will be held at the Irish Rover Too in LaGrange on Friday February 11 th at 12 noon. Advance registration is required. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers and includes lunch. Please call 222-0826 for reservations and information.
