Oldham County History Center Receives $12,500 from Mahan Foundation for Renovation of 1880 Presbyterian Church Education Annex
The Oldham County History Center has received a $12,500 grant from the Mahan Foundation, Inc. to be used for a match toward the interior renovation of the 1880s Presbyterian Church Annex. In July of 2004 the Peyton Samuel Head Trust issued a challenge grant for the history center to raise a 1/3 match or $32,979 of a requested $98,969.00 by April 1, 2005. The Mahan Foundation $12,500 will be used as a part of the match according to Executive Director, Nancy Theiss. Board of Director Secretary from the Mahan Foundation, Jennifer Dick said, "Mr. Mahan loved Oldham County and the people. He wanted to help the young and the elderly. The Oldham County History Center has greatly expanded the educational programs to reach that population. The ability to utilize the education annex will just enhance those programs and we are glad to help fulfill the challenge grant."
