The Oldham County History Center Gift Shop is now selling original art work
by Louisville artist Gayle Williamson. Pieces include embroidered Noah's
Ark panels, purses, and antique quilt pieces. Also posters of Williamson's
"Joy to the World" are being sold for $10. This makes a perfect gift for
the holidays. Additionally, the History Center gift shop is selling several
books important to the History of Oldham County. Specifically "History and
Families, Oldham County, The First Century 1824 - 1924", the biography of
D.W. Griffith and Joseph Reinhart's history of the 6th Kentucky Volunteer
Infantry U.S. "The Boys Who Feared No Noise." Reproductions of the Heyburn
Maps from the Beer and Lanagan Atlas of Jefferson and Oldham counties are
also on sale. These maps are beautiful reproductions of the local towns and
villages in the area from 1879, including Anchorage, Springdale, Westport,
Shiveley, LaGrange, Ballardsville, Goshen, Gilmans, Brownsboro,
Jeffersontown, Middletown and many more.
