Free admission week at the Oldham County History Center

October 19 - 23, 2004

Mapping My Sense of Place Exhibit

Co-sponsored by the Oldham County Conservation District

School is out so bring the children by to enjoy our inter-active mapping exhibit. Kids are encouraged to make a map of their community, create a river, investigate a sink hole and go on a treasure hunt of historical main street LaGrange. Free prizes are awarded to all participants. Additionally, we have on display several maps of Jefferson and Oldham counties, including aerials from the 1940's to present, 19 th century fire maps and more. Also view NASA's film "Liftoff to Learning: Geography from Space" which takes the viewer on a rapid tour of the Earth's surface as viewed from outer space. And, as a special treat, meet Buster, a red rat snake, indigenous to Oldham County.
